Have you ever looked at your life, the one you worked so hard to build, the one with the beautiful children, the growing business, and the husband you love, and felt like you’ve bumped into an invisible wall?
It’s not that anything is "wrong" in the traditional sense. There’s no big crisis, no sudden catastrophe. Instead, it’s a quiet, heavy feeling of stagnation. Every morning feels like a repeat of the day before. You’re moving, you’re busy, you’re checking off the lists, but your soul feels like it’s standing still. It’s like you’re a character in a movie where the film has jammed, and you’re just vibrating in place while the world moves on around you.
As Mums and business owners, we are experts at "doing." We can pivot, we can problem-solve, and we can push through. But when the soul feels stuck, no amount of caffeine or calendar-blocking seems to fix it.
If you feel like you’ve lost the rhythm of your own life, I want you to know you aren’t "broken," and you certainly aren’t lazy. You might just be living in a stagnant frequency.
The Unseen Wall of Stagnation
We often think that "feeling stuck" means a lack of movement. But for most of us, it’s actually the opposite. We are moving too fast in too many directions, and like a spinning top, we look perfectly still because we are rotating with such frantic intensity.
Stagnation in the soul is like a pool of water that has stopped flowing. In nature, when water stops moving, it loses its clarity. It becomes heavy, dull, and eventually, it can no longer sustain the life it was meant to nourish.

When we fall into this state, we start to realise that we’ve lost our "colour." We go through the motions of motherhood and entrepreneurship, but the joy is muted. We honour our commitments, but we don't feel the spark behind them. This is what it means to live in a stagnant frequency, an atmosphere where hope feels far away and your purpose feels like a forgotten dream.
Identifying the Blocks: Why We Stop Flowing
Before we can shift the frequency, we have to recognise what caused the water to stop moving in the first place. For the modern woman, the "blocks" are often invisible but incredibly heavy:
1. Routine Without Rhythm
There is a massive difference between a routine and a rhythm. A routine is something you do (the school run, the emails, the laundry). A rhythm is something you feel. When our lives are all routine with no soul-led rhythm, we become machines. We lose the "why" behind the "what," and our frequency begins to drop into a low, humdrum vibration of survival.
2. The Performance Trap
Many of us feel stuck because we are performing for an audience that doesn’t exist. We try to be the perfect Mum, the "girl boss," and the supportive wife, all while keeping a perfectly curated home. When your identity is built on performance, you eventually hit a wall because you weren't designed to be a performer, you were designed to be a daughter of the King.
3. Fear of the "Next Thing"
Sometimes, we stay stuck because we are subconsciously afraid of what God is calling us into. Growth requires change, and change is uncomfortable. It’s safer to stay in the stagnant pool we know than to jump into the rushing river of the unknown.
The Shift: Moving into the Frequency of Grace
If you are feeling stuck today, the answer isn’t to work harder. You cannot "hustle" your way out of a stagnant soul. To find your way again, you have to shift your frequency from the vibration of "striving" to the frequency of "flow", the flow of Living Water.

In Silhouettes of the Soul, we talk about how freedom comes when we align our frequency with Christ. Think of it like a radio dial. If you are tuned into the frequency of "Not Enough" or "Must Do More," all you will hear is static. But when you tune into Grace, everything changes.
Start with Tiny, Non-Negotiable Moves
When you’re stuck, don’t try to overhaul your entire life. Just make one tiny shift. Maybe it’s five minutes of silence before the kids wake up. Maybe it’s finally saying "no" to that one volunteer role that drains you. These tiny movements are like stones being removed from a dam, eventually, the water begins to trickle, then flow.
Reclaim Your Identity
You are more than your roles. You are not just a Mum, a wife, or a business owner. Deep down, who are you? What makes your heart beat faster? Reconnecting with your God-given identity is the quickest way to break the spirit of stagnation.
The Promise: A New Thing is Springing Forth
When we feel stuck, we often feel like we’ve reached the end of our story. But in the Kingdom, the "stuck" places are often the fertile ground for something brand new.
There is a beautiful promise in Isaiah 43:19:
"Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
Notice that God doesn't say He might do a new thing. He says He is doing it. Even when you feel like you are in a desert, even when the frequency of your life feels stagnant and dry, He is already weaving a way forward. The "stuckness" you feel might actually be the tension before the spring: the moment right before the seedling breaks through the soil.

A Prayer for the Woman Who Feels Going Nowhere
If you’ve read this and felt a nudge in your spirit, I want to invite you to pause. Take a deep breath. Let the "living water" begin to move through the dry places of your soul.
Lord, I lift up my sister who feels stuck today. You see the invisible wall she’s been hitting. You see the fatigue in her eyes and the heaviness in her heart. We ask that You would break the frequency of stagnation over her life right now. Shift her focus from what she is "doing" to who she is in You.
Remind her that You are the God of the new thing. Open her eyes to see the rivers You are making in her desert. Give her the courage to take one small step today, anchored in Your grace and led by Your Spirit. Let her soul begin to flow again with the joy and peace that only You can provide. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you are looking for more ways to navigate these seasons of transition, I encourage you to explore our resources on Empowerment and Faith. You don’t have to stay stuck. There is a frequency of freedom waiting for you to tune in.

Keep your head up, lovely. The shift has already begun.
